Peace Concert 2008

The Peace Concert

Annually, on 31st January, the NTT celebrates the birth anniversary of Dr Neelan Tiruchelvam by organizing a Peace Concert.
The Neelan Tiruchelvam Trust together with the International Centre for Ethnic Studies, the Law and Society Trust together with Tiruchelvam Associates organize a Peace Concert featuring artists of international repute. An upcoming local artist is also featured in the event.

For this year’s concert (2007) the Tribhangi Dance Theatre of South Africa was invited to perform two concerts and conduct a workshop for young student artists.

“African dance was represented by three striking, young African men. Juxtaposed with them were three women of Indian origin, graceful in feature and form. Both groups danced in their own traditional styles, the whole linked together by a common beat.”  – Daily Mirror on February 21, 2007
